The four reasons KYC fails

1. Document image quality

The platform uses automated text-recognition. If the image is blurry, glared, cropped, or rotated, it fails silently — no clear error message, just stuck “under review” forever.

Fix: retake the photo in natural daylight, lay the document flat on a dark surface, all four corners visible, no glare. Use the camera app, not a screenshot.

2. PAN name vs. bank account name mismatch

The single most common rejection. Your name on PAN must match your name on the bank account / UPI handle. Common mismatches:

  • “Rajesh K Singh” (PAN) vs. “Rajesh Kumar Singh” (bank) — fails
  • Different middle name expansion
  • Initial swap (e.g., “S. Rajesh Kumar” vs. “Rajesh S Kumar”)

Fix: easier to update the bank account name to match the PAN than vice versa. Visit your bank branch with PAN as proof.

3. Document mismatch with profile

The name on the PAN must match the name you entered at registration. If you wrote “Rajesh” at sign-up but your PAN says “Rajesh Kumar Singh”, KYC will reject. Update your profile to match the PAN exactly before re-submitting.

4. Age verification

Daman’s real-money play is restricted to 18+. Your DOB on the PAN must show you are 18 or older on the registration date. There is no workaround — underage accounts are permanently blocked.

The KYC submission checklist

  1. Profile name, DOB, address all match the PAN exactly.
  2. PAN photo: front side, sharp, no glare, all 4 corners visible.
  3. Bank proof: passbook front page (with name, account number, IFSC), OR canceled cheque, OR stamped UPI confirmation showing the same name.
  4. Selfie holding the PAN (only if requested).
